Miguel Ángel García Cortés (nacido el 15 de diciembre de 1987), más conocido como Mikey García, es un boxeador profesional estadounidense. Ha ostentado múltiples campeonatos mundiales en cuatro categorías de peso, incluyendo el título lineal de peso welter junior de 2018 a 2020;[2] anteriormente ostentó los títulos de peso pluma de la OMB y de la revista Ring en 2013, el título de peso ligero junior de la OMB de 2013 a 2014, los títulos de peso ligero del CMB y de la FIB entre 2017 y 2019, y el título de peso welter junior de la FIB en 2018. También ha desafiado una vez por el título de peso welter de la FIB en 2019.

Nacido de padres mexicanos, el padre de Miguel Ángel, Eduardo, fue un boxeador amateur y entrenador del campeón mundial de boxeo Fernando Vargas en el Club de Boxeo Juvenil La Colonia[3] Su hermano mayor, Roberto fue un boxeador profesional y un ex campeón del peso superpluma de la FIB que perdió su cinturón ante el fallecido Diego Corrales. Su hermano mayor, Daniel, fue boxeador y entrenador.[4] Ha aparecido en el programa American Latino TV de la cadena ABC y habló sobre cómo compaginar los estudios con las exigencias del boxeo.[5]

The historical trajectory of this relationship shows the process of adaptation and continuous change, in an attempt to express in the best possible way, those possibilities of improvement that Medicine can offer to people. There is no doubt that in this process there have been, and will continue to be, limitations and resistance, and that the progress made from the Hippocratic model of help without the patient to the more modern model of shared decision-making owes much to the efforts of the recipients themselves, the patients and their associations and movements. But it is also clear that, although not without resistance, the profession itself feels committed to this process of improvement; hence the movement of commitment to professional values that has taken place so far this millennium under the name of “medical professionalism”, at the heart of which this initiative should be understood.
