A Star Is Born is the soundtrack to the 2018 film of the same name, starring Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper. It was released simultaneously with the film on October 5, 2018 under the distribution of Interscope Records.[10] The album contains a total of 17 original songs, as well as a cover of “La vie en rose” and 15 dialogues. Gaga composed and produced most of the songs on the soundtrack, at times receiving support from some of her most frequent collaborators such as Mark Ronson, DJ White Shadow and Hillary Lindsey. Cooper, on the other hand, submitted his first compositions for the soundtrack, having co-written four songs with Lukas Nelson.[11] Generally speaking, the songs performed as a duet by Gaga and Cooper were mostly songs in the country genre, but the songs performed by Cooper alone were set within the rock genre, while Gaga’s songs had a more pop approach.[2] Interspersed with the soundtrack, the songs were performed by Gaga and Cooper.[2] Interspersed with Gaga’s songs were mostly songs in the country genre.

To promote the album, Interscope Records released the track “Shallow” as a single a week before the film’s release and the soundtrack release in question. The song managed to reach the top of the charts in countries such as Australia, Austria, Denmark, Canada, the United States, Ireland, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and Sweden.[82] It also earned a variety of platinum albums for its high sales. 83] Moreover, Gaga sang it as a soloist during the sixty-first Grammy Awards, and later as a duet with Cooper at the ninety-first Oscar Awards.[84][85] The song was also included in the repertoire of her Lady Gaga: Enigma residency.[86] The song was also included in the repertoire of her residency Lady Gaga: Enigma.[86] The song was also included in the repertoire of her Lady Gaga: Enigma.

Remakes, reboots, adaptations… why do we tell the same stories over and over again? Some are so universal that they persist the passage of decades. Other times, a writer or filmmaker revisits those stories to find their own perspective, or update it to fit the thinking and concerns of their time. A Star is Born is almost as old as Hollywood and talkies themselves, and since the 1937 original we’ve seen three other versions (at the very least, but that depends on whether or not you ask Bollywood).

For fans of the version with Lady Gaga, this will be the remake they will be most familiar with. Contrary to the first two, which told the story of two Hollywood actors, 1976’s A Star is Born shifted gears to the music industry, to put the talents of Streisand and Kristofferson front and center. Swap the Oscar for the Grammy and movies for albums, and you have the same story.

This iteration was the first to introduce the story from the perspective of the male lead, here named John Norman Howard (Kristofferson). It’s not as effective in that regard, however, as his side of the story – with its much more over-the-top antics – somewhat dilutes the side of the real star, Esther Hoffman (Streisand).

After the Oscars, which added the award for Best Original Song to the list of winners for “A Star is Born”, the third remake of the 1937 film directed by William A. Wellman, the distributor Warner Bros. has announced that as of March 1, the film will return to North American theaters (and we still don’t know if it will be in Chile as well) with a new version that brings several new features.

This new version of the film will have 12 new minutes of previously unreleased scenes, including extended scenes of moments in which the stars of the film, Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper perform songs such as “Shallow,” “Is That Alright?” which is performed by Lady Gaga (as Ally) during the wedding that takes place during the film (spoiler alert) and “Alibi”.
