El tigre madrid tapas

The tiger bar

Are you tired of spending a lot of money every time you want to go to a bar? Would you like the tapas to be more generous than they usually are? The solution I propose is located in the capital, a stone’s throw from Gran Vía street, in the heart of the Chueca neighborhood. It is called El Tigre, a cider bar that has already opened its second location in Madrid (also in Chueca), and goes beyond the concept of “tapas bar” that we have here.

In addition, another advantage is that since it is such a central location, it is common for people to go for dinner before going out to party in the area. That is why we will find all kinds of clientele in the place, predominantly young people: Erasmus students or students from other autonomous communities, couples, groups of older friends … Of course, if you allow me a tip, be careful with the weekends! If you want to have room, I recommend that you go early because both establishments fill up quickly and you won’t enjoy it as much.

The tapas are tremendously generous although the beer, as expected, is not exactly free. But don’t be alarmed if you don’t manage to open the door when you arrive because it’s packed to the rafters with avid drinkers.

Few bars in Madrid have as much emotional value as this bar in Moncloa, located opposite the PSOE headquarters on Calle Ferraz. Besides, the more drinks you order, the higher the quality of the tapa you get (or so the legend goes).

This mythical tapas bar where you can get drunk on fried food took its name in allusion to its competitor, Los Amigos bar, which was next door and closed not long ago. A pity because the healthy rivalry gave grace to the matter.

The second colored sign of El Tigre appeared at Calle Hortaleza 23 (how to get there). It is a place that, after its first corridor, is a bit more spacious. It has an interesting lounge that is always full and a bit noisy.  But if you are lucky you can even sit at a table. The third sad nothing El Tigre is also on Calle Infantas, at 23 (how to get there), in what was once La Pantera Rosa del Rayo. A local that is not a hallway and where you will have to fight to get a barrel that will serve you as a table. If you get one of their high chairs you will probably spend long hours there.

La Manduca, menudas tostas On one of our walks around Madrid, in the Ermita area of the M30 we got a message: “go have a drink at La Manduca, menudas tostas”. But we couldn’t. And then we saw this publication of Madrid No Frills, and what a nice terrace, in…
