The Directorate General of Traffic, through which the Ministry of the Interior exercises its powers over the autonomous body Jefatura Central de Tráfico, has been assigned the functions of promoting research into road safety, which entails the analysis of data and statistics related to this.
The traffic accident statistics prepared by the Directorate General of Traffic for research purposes have been compiled on the basis of the data contained in the accident statistics questionnaires regulated in the Order of the Ministry of Relations with the Courts and the Secretary of the Government of February 18, 1993, which modifies the traffic accident statistics, to be filled in by the agents of the authority who have intervened in the accidents.
We now proceed to establish the terms in which this information will be communicated to the National Register of Traffic Accident Victims, thus complying with the provisions of article 96 of the text of the Law on Traffic, Circulation of Motor Vehicles and Road Safety, which, as regards its regulation, refers to a ministerial order which, moreover, will replace the Order of February 18, 1993, which is repealed in its entirety.

There is no doubt that there will be three conflictive days on the roads. The DGT knows this from experience. For this reason it has once again appealed to drivers to exercise extreme caution at the wheel, emphasizing the slogan of the Summer Operation that began on July 2 with the first Operation Summer Exit: “Don’t spoil it”.
To these measures are added the agents of the Traffic Grouping of the Civil Guard and the rest of the material resources available to the DGT. That is, 780 fixed radars (92 of them in stretches) and 545 mobile speed control radars, in addition to 12 helicopters, 39 drones and 261 cameras and 15 camouflaged vans to control the use of cell phones and seat belts.
Once again, the DGT asks drivers to be cautious and not to let their nerves get the better of them so that the return home can be carried out in a normal way. Traffic insists on the basic safety rules reproduced below.
